Motion rig kits

Build your own 6-DOF rig.

Two laser-cut steel hexapods, both driven by the Motion4Sim controller: the MK3 has been proving itself in the field since 2024, the MK4 is in development. Each one has its own build documentation — kinematics, dimensions, parts and wiring.

The 6-DOF rig that has been proving itself for years.

Six 750 W servos on 1:50 planetary gearboxes, 180 mm cranks and a laser-cut steel hexapod — as a kit, with Step/Dir or EtherCAT drives. Rotary actuators mean no ball screws and no wear parts in the force path.

6 × 750 W AC servos
1:50 planetary gearboxes
±175 mm surge · sway · heave
150 kg payload
  • Parked, the deck sits around 500 mm above the floor — easy to step into
  • Controller and handheld unit included in the kit
  • 115 kg rig weight — stands on its own, no anchoring needed
  • Step-by-step video documentation of every assembly phase

The 6-DOF platform, engineered from the ground up.

Six 1000 W EtherCAT servo actuators, 400 mm stroke and a laser-cut steel hexapod. Ball-screw linear actuators with holding brakes, driven by the Motion4Sim controller.

6 × 1000 W EtherCAT servos
400 mm actuator stroke
±30° roll · pitch · yaw
200 kg payload
  • Ball-screw actuators, up to 500 mm/s and 5.4 kN peak force
  • Brake-equipped servos hold the platform when powered off
  • Values are provisional while the MK4 is in development

The electronics are the same either way

Both rigs run on the Motion4Sim controller — the same firmware, the same Dashboard, the same motion software. Start with the controller documentation, or ask in the Discord.
